Now Accepting Applications For Bloomsday 2024 Charity Of Choice

Lilac Bloomsday Run Charity of Choice Application deadline extended to August 4, 2023. 

Spokane, WA July 25, 2023

The Lilac Bloomsday Run, one of the most celebrated and iconic road races in the nation, is currently accepting applications for the 2024 “Charity of Choice”. This initiative aims to empower nonprofit organizations and charitable causes by providing them with a unique platform to raise awareness and funds while uniting with the running community for a common purpose with an impact that will extend beyond the finish line.  

The selected charity receives money donated by Bloomsday participants when they sign up for the run and most charities also raise funds by selling a product (bracelet, singlet, t-shirt, etc.) before, during, and/or after race weekend. The charity also receives a free booth at the Bloomsday trade show to use as they see fit.  

Nonprofit organization from various sectors are encouraged to apply for the Charity of Choice.

The application should be no more than 2 pages and include:  

  • History/background of the charity and the work that is done.  
  • How being the 2024 Charity of Choice would benefit the charities mission.  
  • Any special things the charity would like to do in conjunction with Bloomsday to increase funds raised and/or increase visibility of the charity and Bloomsday.  
  • Please include the nonprofit’s name, mailing address, phone, and website.

The Lilac Bloomsday Association Charity Committee starts reviewing immediately after the August 4th deadline and will make a final decision by early October. Non-winning applicants are also notified at that time. For more information, please visit /bloomsday-charity 

The 48th running Bloomsday race will take place on May 5, 2024, and participants can look forward to an unforgettable experience as they navigate the historic Bloomsday course through the streets of Spokane.
