Update for Early Online Registrants of Bloomsday 2020

Thursday, March 26, 2020

At Bloomsday, we appreciate the tremendous patience, understanding, and courtesy you have shown us over the past week. We likewise value the outpouring of support you have extended for our new announced race date of September 20.

As many of you already know, Bloomsday is a non-profit organization that relies heavily upon volunteers and race entries to put on our race year after year. While we do have a no-refund policy for our entries, the Bloomsday Board of Directors wanted to make sure that we provided maximum flexibility to our valued runners and walkers to make sure that they could participate this year or next.

If you will participate on September 20 - - NO ACTION IS NEEDED
If it is your plan to run/walk in Bloomsday on Sunday, September 20, there is nothing more that you need to do. Your entry is automatically carried forward to the new date. You are all set! If you purchased souvenir items (medals, shirts, hats/visors) or Ronald McDonald charity socks, those items will be available for pick-up on the Friday or Saturday of race weekend (September 18-19).

If you are unable to join us on September 20 - - Follow These Steps
If you registered between January 1 and March 18 and will be unable to join us on September 20, then your entry fee can be deferred to Bloomsday 2021 (May 2, 2021) or a future Bloomsday race. When you defer, you will receive an email from us within 3 weeks containing a credit voucher for your entry fee and any bus pass or souvenir items (medals, shirts, hats/visors) you purchased. Note that any Ronald McDonald charity socks purchased will be mailed to you this summer and any donation made will be paid to the charity this year. The credit voucher is transferable to anyone and its value can be redeemed towards entry fees for a future Bloomsday race and the purchase of Bloomsday souvenir items.

To defer your Bloomsday 2020 entry you MUST follow these steps by July 1, 2020:
  1. Log in to the Bloomsday 2020 registration site
  2. Click the “Order History” link at the top of the page
  3. Follow the instructions displayed for each registrant that you want to defer to 2021 or later.
Note: If you processed more than one order for Bloomsday 2020, the additional orders are displayed in the left column. Click each order to review the individual(s) you entered for Bloomsday 2020.
Important: Once a deferral is processed, it cannot be undone.

REMEMBER: All deferrals must be submitted by July 1, 2020.

Again, we appreciate your understanding and compassion as we navigate these waters for a new race date. Bloomsday 2020 will be our 44th year, and we are looking forward to “blooming in September.” But if you are unable to join us, we certainly look forward to seeing you next spring. All the best to you during these difficult times.
