Spokane, WAāOne of the most popular parts of the annual Lilac Bloomsday Run is the variety of performers along the 7.46-mile route, and this year should be no exception, asĀ nearly 30 different individuals and groupsĀ have been scheduled throughout the course.
Ā
āThis is a great lineup again this year,ā said Bloomsday Board member Dori Robertson, who works with on-course entertainment director Laurel Warner in scheduling bands and other performers along the route. āThereās something for everybody on the Bloomsday course.ā
Ā
This yearās on-course entertainment includes music to please a variety of tastes, including rock, pop, punk, blues, bluegrass, ska, oldies, accordion and Christian. For the second straight year, the Choir from the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes will perform outside the church early on the Bloomsday course. This yearās performers also include perennial crowd favorite Adrienne Bousquet and performances by science fiction & fantasy actors SpoCon 2010.
Ā
Bloomsday entrants will be able to vote for their favorite performers by logging on to www.bloomsdayrun.org after the race, and prizes of $500, $300, and $150 will be awarded to the winning entertainers.
