Spokane, WA—With the weather warming up for spring, Bloomsday Corporate Cup teams are also warming up for their competition. And although Bloomsday is still a month away, a few teams have already emerged as front runners, at least in one Corporate Cup category. A group of the race’s sponsors and organizers have conferred and announced this year’s finalists for the Corporate Cup “Best Team Name” contest.
Of the nearly 300 teams entered in the Corporate Cup Competition, the finalists (see below) only number 21. The team names range from James C Hoppe, DDS’s “Brushing off the Competition” to Avista’s “Dam Slow.” The first, second, and third place names will be announced after Bloomsday in the Souvenir Results Booklet distributed by The Inlander.
“Every year the teams put a lot of thought and time into their names, and this year is no different,” remarked Corporate Cup Director Carol Hunter. “It’s too bad we can’t select more than one winner because there are so many great names to go along with great competition.”
“Running Our Buttresses Off” of ALSC Architects won last year’s team name contest, beating out “No Bean Left Behind” of Craven’s Coffee and “Cath Us If You Can” of Inland Cardiology Associates, who placed second and third, respectively.
Although registration is now closed for the Corporate Cup competition, runners still have time to register for Bloomsday. Mailed entry forms for the $15 entry fee must be postmarked by midnight, April 14th, while online entrants have until Sunday, April 19th to do so. Late entries for the $30.00 fee will be accepted online from April 20th through the 26th, and at the Bloomsday Trade Show the weekend of May 1st & 2nd.
